기독교복음선교회 “정명석 목사 무죄 촉구” 서울·대전 대규모 집회

기독교복음선교회(세칭 JMS) 교인협의회·대전 금산 교인 연합회측은 8월 6일자 보도자료에서 “현재  JMS 정명석 목사의 재판이 기피신청 후 항고 절차가 이어지는 가운데, JMS에 대해 그 동안 이어진 언론사의 왜곡보도를 규탄하고 공정한 재판을 요구하는 집회가 7월 중반부터 매주 계속되고 있다”고 소개하고 “지난 8월6일 오후 4시 서울 시청 앞 대로, 5시 대전 시청 앞 잔디광장에서 총 1만 5천여명(기독교복음선교회측 집계)의 기독교복음선교회(세칭 JMS) 회원들이 집회를 열었다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “서울-대전 두 곳의 집회 주최인 ‘기독교복음선교회 교인협의회’와 ‘대전 금산 교인 연합회’는 대외에 JMS측의 목소리를 내기 위해 선교회 교인들이 자발적으로 결성한 협의체다. 서울에서의 행사는 선교회 소속 교회 중 주님의 흰돌교회를 비롯한 서울 강북지역 교회가 주도했다”고 덧붙였다.

JMS 내 여성 지도자들의 정명석 목사 증거

기독교복음선교회(세칭 JMS) 교인협의회·대전 금산 교인 연합회측은 이 자료에서 “이번 행사엔 그 동안 언론을 통해 형성된 정명석 목사에 대한 성범죄 프레임을 규탄하는 여성 지도자들의 외침이 이어졌다. 이들은 '정명석 목사는 여성 차별을 경계하고, 여성 교인들의 개성과 능력을 인정해 지도자들로 세워왔다'며 '선교회 내 여성 지도자들을 정명석 목사의 성 착취 대상으로 매도하고 선교회를 성적 음란집단으로 낙인찍는 행위를 중단하라'고 외쳤다.”고 설명하고 ”서울 시청 앞 집회에서 주님의 흰돌교회 목회자 A목사는 '40여 년 간 지켜본 정명석 목사는 늘 예수님의 정신을 가르치고 제자들 앞에 본부터 보여주는 실천가의 삶을 살아오신 분”라며 “존경하는 목사님을 성 착취범으로 만들고 우리를 공범으로 매도한 언론과 사회에 분노해 이 집회를 진행하게 됐다'”고 밝혔다.

행사에서 상영된 영상에서 본인을 신앙스타로 밝힌 익명의 교인은 “주변인들에게 ‘1만명 성폭행의 대상에 들었느냐’는 등 온갖 황당한 질문에 시달려왔다”며  “신앙스타는 삶 가운데 예수님을 깨끗이 모시고 살아야 하는 어려운 길로, 결혼과 술 담배도 하지 않고 하나님을 모시는 삶을 보여주신 정명석 목사님이 신앙스타의 모토”라고 밝혔다.


JMS 30년차 교인들의 외침

이날 행사엔 JMS에 30년 넘게 신앙생활을 해온 교인들이 무대에 올라 정명석 목사의 진실 규명을 구했다. 현재 JMS 장로단 소속으로 밝힌 B씨는 “33년간 정명석 목사의 수많은 설교를 들었지만 한 번도 예수님을 부인한 적이 없었고, 그 누구보다도 오직 예수님만이 그리스도임을 우리에게 가르쳐 주셨다”라며 “우리는 맹목적으로 믿고 따르는 세뇌된 광신도가 아니라, 그분의 행실을 통해  나타나신 하나님의 모습을 봤기 때문에 그를 존경하고 따르는 것”이라며, 언론의 편파 보도와 불공정한 재판에 대한 유감을 표했다.
